We are well into the fall school year, and are excited to provide a creative, encouraging and helpful space for students as they dive into their academics and activities.

So far, we’ve hosted Cedarburg HS’s AFS ice cream social to welcome its international students, as well as their Best Buddies match party. Rock band Spaced Out performed for our Java Jams music series, bringing in 100 people for the concert.

We were open for Wine and Harvest Fest, and despite the weather, we enjoyed getting to meet more of the community and had some fun in the process.

Upcoming, we have two FREE weekly courses beginning at the end of October: a finance course aimed for college, and a teen writers’ workshop. Both offer in-depth and practical knowledge in their areas. There is still room for both courses, so email sarah@thestudentu.org for more information or questions. We will also participate in Cedarburg’s Pumpkin Walk on October 31st, handing out candy and our coffee bar available to purchase hot chocolate to keep families going through the evening, so be sure to stop by and say hello!

This is a great time of the year, and it is a joy to build relationships with our students, volunteers, and Ozaukee County. I am grateful for the continued support and am eager to move into more service projects as the holiday season draws closer to further impact the community.

Let’s go into this season of thanksgiving with open hands and hearts to the relationships already established, and for those yet to be!

Enjoying the Journey,
